Soon a bill favorable to the development of cycling in the city?

The member Philippe Goujon, also mayor of the 15th and advisor to Paris, took his official visit to Cycle Show October 5, 2009 with Mr. Estrosi, Minister for Industry, to communicate its intention to file a motion for Legislation to encourage the use of motorized mobility and low emissions.

The proposals in the press release give a central place in cycling, including:
the assumption by the employer, capped at € 200 tax-deductible expenses related to use by its employees to one or more modes of travel such ecological cycling, walking, skating, to make all or part of the journey home -work. This assumption is consistent with the repayment of part of the subscription Transit Authority employee to encourage intermodal travel
the assumption by the employer costs of cycling cyclists of its employees, by paying a mileage allowance capped at € 200 annual tax-deductible, modeled on the Belgian system
applying a reduced rate of VAT for small repair services for bicycles as permitted by EU Directive 2009/47/EC and experience a reduced rate of VAT on sales cycles
the establishment of a national approval of anti-theft rings and a national database of bike marked to facilitate their search for theft.

The same member had been noted for having pushed through end-2008 an amendment to the Prime Transport extending to public bicycle rental management by the employer for the benefit of its employees, public transport passes.

This position of a prominent opposition to Paris city is of course no stranger to major development of cycling observed after the success of Vélib ‘: the Parisian electors who in their majority do not have a car to appreciate live in the future in a city still traffic calmer. Formerly known for its traffic congestion and pollution, the City of Light is about to show the way forward?

It is fine to lay a bill, it does not eat bread, it’s a pleasure to those who were promised, and is a fine display policy, especially with the approach of regional elections.
