The NR 750 (New Road) is a model of sport bike, designed and marketed by the company Nippon Honda.

The competition, since the beginning of the bike, was the way for manufacturers to display their technological expertise and showcase their innovations. If some of the techniques used in competition are found on road machines, very few models of competition have been reworked to be counterparts. Ducati has been on the market in 2006, extrapolated MotoGP machine, the Desmocedici RR. But this is not the first attempt. 15 years ago, Honda has also marketed a machine incorporating many technologies used in Grand Prix, on his NR 500 since 1979, then Endurance on NR 750 in 1987.

The most dramatic and best known of these technologies is probably the oval piston engine.
For more power, increase the filling of cylinders. The simplest is to increase the number of valves. But this technique quickly shows its limits and it must play on the diameter of the valve and privilege either the admission or exhaust if you go beyond four or five valves [1].
The solution chosen by Honda to create oval cylinders, to place eight valves. It must nevertheless 2 candles to ignite properly each combustion chamber. Each operates two piston rods.

The engine is composed of four of the cylinders in V, open to 90 degrees. The bolt must withstand 32 valves and 8 candles. It gets 130 horsepower at 14 500 rpm and a limited diet for the sake of reliability at 15 000 rpm, but could give more.

This engine is obviously fueled by electronic injection PGM-F1 with two injectors per cylinder.

The fairing is entirely carbon fiber. It has been widely studied in wind tunnel to give the best airfoil. The numerous fins, gills cooling and other aerodynamic appendages give it a futuristic look. The exhaust goes under the saddle and let the view of the swingarm. This single-sided swingarm is a direct result of studies in partnership with ELF.

Of the 322 copies produced at a rate of 3 copies per day, only 34 were available in France. However, each buyer can pay the requested 375 000 F (about 57 168 €), Honda offered a keychain silver.

Legend has it that production has declined to provide the true NR, the bike that appears on the screen is a mere 750 VFR remaquillée.

Lexus RX 450h Test: powerful and simple

Presented as a concept at the Mondial de l’Automobile in Paris and in its final version at the Geneva Motor Show 2009, the second generation of hybrids from Lexus is preparing to make its appearance in concession under the name RX450H in line with the previous first generation RX400h.

The RX450H is an evolution of the RX400h in many ways. If we recognize at the outset a clear relationship between the two models, the RX 450h is bigger, more powerful and also with an improved hybrid technology which gives better performance, both in consumption that the level of emissions.

RX450H The design appears at first glance like a lot bigger than its predecessor. It is indeed but earns only 10mm in length 40mm width, 15mm in height and has a wheelbase 20mm higher. The difference beyond these figures is the highest level of design. The front of the vehicle is larger with a more aggressive grille, headlights and a more tapered look more modern, massive and more “sitting” that the RX400h which may seem paradoxical since it is also more dynamic and provides better penetration coefficient in the air.

The aluminum center console is both ergonomic and modern and leaves enough room for plenty of storage space available at the arm and under the console itself. The navigation system, something rare these days, unless you have an integrated Tomtom, is intuitive and easy to use for the followers of the “non-consultation leaflet. The latter, as the audio system, telephone or air conditioning is run by a multifunction remote Touch “treated as a computer mouse that goes easy on the color LCD screen 8”.

The driving position is optimized to perfection. The driver of this is the flagship fingertip adjust seat and steering wheel through a small electric wheel. The dashboard offers many well-appointed on a retro blue light with the best taste among other fuel savings realized in real time and head-up display (HUD) that displays clearly but without the driver, speed direction and information on the audio system.
